PAST LIVES is a professional genealogy and social history research consultancy business with long-term research experience run by director, Cheryl Hart (see Biography below). Over the years a vast archival collection of historic documents and resources has been acquired that is often used in our research projects and publications.
As well as our research services, PAST LIVES also offers courses at various levels to people who are interested in researching their own family trees. Particularly of interest are the courses that enable to participants to examine some of the historic documents from our collection.
Brief biography of director, Cheryl Hart:
My personal interest in family and social history began - as for many people - with my own family many years ago. I have worked in the research sector for over forty years and have a vast amount of experience in using archival resources long before the days of the internet. I attained a First Class Honours degree in Archaeology and History from Swansea University some years ago and have conducted six years post-graduate research in Archaeology and History at University of Wales Trinity Saint David in Lampeter. I have also attained distinction for a Certificate in Teaching for Higher Education awarded by the Higher Education Academy.
I work closely with Bridgend & District Local History Society, and I am an active member of The Society of Genealogists, Glamorgan History Society, plus various other UK societies that continue to inspire me in my research. I regularly attend conferences, training courses, and fairs in order to keep up-to-date with new record releases or developments in the genealogy / social history fields. I also exhibit at various fairs to promote the services of PAST LIVES, often through a social history display.
I hope this has inspired you to use PAST LIVES services and I welcome the opportunity to explore your family's past
